Dear Damion Cappuccio, Every time we utter the word Hospital, our 3-year-old daughter starts crying. She tells us, Ammi, I don't want any injections, let's go back to Bhopal. Our little angels name is Javeriya. In her mind, she thinks she's battling those painful injections, however, in reality, she's battling a dreadful blood cancer called Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. It's been a month since she's been undergoing chemotherapy cycles and we want to free her from cancer soon. Every time a nurse approaches her, she holds my hand really tight. The sight of leaving my crying daughter to the nurse leaves my heart heavy. After her chemotherapy round, all her energy goes down. Our daughter who's the most talkative by nature ends up silent after this treatment. We live the same emotion as our daughter's and are struggling to pay her hospital bills. She needs chemotherapy rounds for 3 months that cost a whopping Rs. 10 lakh. |
