My whole life revolves around my twin daughters - Neha and Nikita. But the past one year has been tough on us. My 9-year-old Neha was diagnosed with blood cancer in October 2016. Since then, we've had to go through the trauma of seeing our little girl get heavy injections and radiation to fight cancer.
She was a cheerful child who loved dancing - she was a talented Bharatnatyam dancer but her life for the past year has been consumed by hospital visits. We have spent over Rs. 25 lakhs in the past year and as a result have sold off everything we owned. My husband had to quit his job as we had to constantly be there with Neha in the hospital as every time a nurse approached her she would be terrified.
We live in a small dharamshala and make do on one meal a day. My husband tries to sustain us with some part-time work but we have no money left to continue Neha's treatment. But we won't give up. We will continue to fight and will win our daughter from cancer.
