Full Story Total Wealth We May Be Closer to a Deal with China Than Most Think During one of my frequent appearances on FOX Business Network's "Varney & Co.," host Stuart Varney asked about the China trade talks resuming this week in Washington, and of course, whether the markets will go up once any kind of deal is announced. The short answer: Absolutely they will. I think the deal is a lot closer than it's being portrayed by the press, and the reason for that comes down to translation. Here's the thing: The Chinese word for "hopeful," which is being picked up in English, is a conveyance of optimism. This is a major reason why the market - as in the Dow Jones Industrial Average - got within 1,000 during an all-time high last Friday and futures pointed a little bit higher on Monday. Traders know they have to be in when the scrum starts, and they can't wait for a pullback environment that's driven by computers.
