| Nobody Wants to Talk About the Facts... The real market isn't run by humans anymore. It's run by high-speed supercomputers. And the computers almost always win. In fact, one major high-speed trading firm revealed that in four years of trading, it only lost money one day. That means they steamrolled ordinary investors for 1,237 out of 1,238 trading days. So let me ask you a question... Why would you ever play that rigged game? Today, we're going to show you a much better way... | | | Wealth Secrets of the Hedge Fund "Money Guys" By Matt Piepenburg, Macro Signal Strategist, Money Morning Back in 1949, an Australian immigrant, Alfred Winslow Jones, established the first "hedged fund" on Wall Street. He used strategies like leverage and short selling to hedge, to neutralize market risk, buying about as much as he sold.
This canny approach insulated Jones and his 98 carefully selected partners from the wild market swings of the pre-"easy Fed money" era. For Jones, then, it was just a question of picking the right stocks.
How'd he do? Well, performance was so good, Jones asked for (and got) 20% of the fund's profits - a fee that's become customary for fund managers, good and bad.
So Jones had admirable performance, but in the half-century and more since, there have been some changes to the very idea of a hedge fund. Chief among them, the idea of hedging a fund has mutated into "let's try and make buckets of money by any and all possible means and take 20% regardless of performance."
When people play it smart, and carefully, they mint fortunes and establish legends. Jeffrey Gundlach, Ray Dalio, and Paul Tudor Jones come to mind.
On the other hand, managers who do use "any and all possible means" can descend spectacularly into fiasco and fraud, like John Meriwether, Steven A. Cohen, and, of course, Bernie Madoff did.
And that's exactly why, depending on the context, audience, or ZIP code, the word "hedge fund" or "hedge fund manager" can conjure sentiments ranging from awe and respect to disgust and derision.
So we love to hate hedge funds, but we don't understand them.
But why the heck should we bother to understand what happens in them?
Well, that's because regular investors can absolutely use hedge fund "secrets" better than the hedge funds; the Barclay Hedge Fund Index returned just 0.63% in March.
I should know - I was a hedge fund money guy.
I've run them, allocated billions to them, managed millions myself, and have worked with so many fund managers over the years that I want to show you how to make real money the safe way - the way the world's best hedge funds have done since 1949...

Play Tesla's Erratic Price Moves for Profits on Every Rise and Fall It's 2020, you're cruising down the highway with the windows down and the radio up - and your hands aren't on the wheel. Your foot isn't on the gas. The car is driving itself.
It's been a race within the auto industry in recent years to see who can develop the first autonomous vehicle. Top carmakers like Tesla, Uber, and Google offshoot Waymo have been in tight competition to see who will develop the car of the future - one that doesn't require a human driver.
Now, most people have been watching Waymo, Google's former project, which seemed to be at the forefront of the self-driving car race...
But this recent announcement from Tesla is about to change all of that...
During Tesla Autonomy Day on Monday, April 22, Musk unveiled Tesla's vision of self-driving cars. He said, "All Tesla cars being produced right now have everything necessary for full self-driving. All you have to do is improve the software."
And that software is closer than we may think. He continued, predicting, "A year from now we'll have over a million cars with full self-driving, software, everything."
The biggest advancement Tesla has made toward this goal is a new chip, developed in-house and designed solely for self-driving purposes. Plus, the company has plans beyond simply selling the autonomous cars...
