Dec 7, 2022 Daily DC Insider Voters don't want Trump or Biden in 2024 Image Source: Fox News Several early surveys indicate that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis is the 2024 presidential candidate preferred by the majority of Republican voters, while the majority of Americans would like to see someone other than Vice President Joe Biden as the Democratic contender in 2024. 63% of respondents would prefer see DeSantis as the Republican nominee than former President Trump, who garnered only 36% support in a recent Marquette Law School survey. Among Republican-identifying respondents, DeSantis secured a 10-point edge over the former president, with 55% support compared to 45% for Trump. DeSantis has not announced his intention to run for president in 2024. The Marquette Law School survey was conducted between November 15 and November 22 with a margin of error of 3.7%. The Marist Poll indicated that 52% of Republicans feel the GOP has the best chance of winning the upcoming presidential election if a candidate other than Trump, who announced his campaign in mid-November 2024, is on the general election ballot.
