How I Got My Start Writing About Chicken Soup
"No one wants to read that!"
That's what I told my good friend and Stansberry Research founder Porter Stansberry more than 16 years ago.
At the time, I had left my hotshot career on Wall Street and was working as an eye surgeon. But Porter wanted me to leave medicine behind and write for him.
I was positive that no one would actually want to read health and finance missives from me. Porter disagreed.
It became clear to me that Porter and I had the same vision... We wanted to help as many people as possible live better lives.
So in 2007, I started writing the S&A Health Report every other week. My first issue was about the cold-fighting power of chicken soup. At the time it was just me, my ideas, and my longtime managing editor (now our executive editor) Carli Flippen.
What began as a project I thought no one would care about turned into a life-changing moment.
Today, I work with an incredible team of managing editors, analysts, and researchers across five newsletters, and our work reaches hundreds of thousands of folks around the world.
And it's all thanks to a phone conversation all those years ago with Porter.
If you're a longtime Stansberry Research subscriber, you'll know that Porter and I don't always agree. But he's a brilliant analyst. His understanding of markets, history, and finance makes him a must-read for serious investors.
The other day, Porter and I sat down on camera to film a special video for Stansberry Research subscribers like you...
We talked about where Porter has been in recent years, why he's back as our CEO, and what he's doing to protect his wealth right now. He'll also share how all of this benefits your financial future.
I can tell you that right after I finished filming, I told my assistant that Porter and I had so much fun during filming that I hope we can share some behind-the-scenes stories with folks in the future. It truly was a joy to sit down and talk with a good friend and a man who changed my life.
If you want to start off 2024 the right way, this is a must watch for all of my readers.
The recording goes live next Tuesday at 10 a.m. Eastern time, and it will only be available for 48 hours. Click here to reserve your spot now.

Reader feedback of the week...
*** When you pay cash, 100% of your purchase goes to the merchant. When you pay by credit card or other electronic method, the merchant only receives about 97% of your purchase price. 3% goes to the bank processing the payment. 3% may not sound like a lot, but if the shop's profit margin on cash income is 10%, you just cut their margin by 30%. How would you like to take that kind of pay cut?
Warm regards. – L.H.
