Futures Trade Room Recap: SLOW WEEK BUT ALL WINS! No stop-outs this week! Didn't get much with news events this week causing some chaos, but what we did get was solid. Four net wins on the week!
TIP OF THE WEEK: Is less really more??..
Is less really more when it comes to trading? We've all heard that many times over, but how many traders really practice this concept? I can tell you that very few traders do. Many of us had to learn things the hard way, so I hope I can be a harbinger to help keep you out of harms way.
Is it beneficial to change parameters on a winning trading strategy? Would it be a benefit to eliminate one stop if we also eliminated one win?
Most traders would answer no. We always think, "I am a day trader; therefore, I trade." I can tell you that this could not be further from the truth. One would be wise to adopt the mindset, "I am a day trader; therefore, I only trade my confirmed setups." Eliminating one stop-out even when eliminating a win is a benefit for most traders. In our case, we typically trade 1:1 risk/reward, so eliminating stop-outs is key.
Even if you are trading larger risk multiples, there is a point where the stop-outs can affect your mindset and emotional well-being. If one of our major priorities is to maintain a balanced emotional state, then eliminating stop-outs is a positive in many cases.
It's always better to wish you were in a trade than to wish you weren't. Trade well, trade less.

For example, the ability to withstand losses or to adhere to a particular trading program in spite of trading losses are material points which can also adversely affect actual trading results. There are numerous other factors related to the markets in general or to the implementation of any specific trading program which cannot be fully accounted for in the preparation of hypothetical performance results and all of which can adversely affect actual trading results.
