Hey guys, Dave here, and welcome to Path to Profits. There’s a lot of exciting stuff going on in geotech, strategic materials, finance, and the companies that drive those trends… You see, no one covers this space like we do. So every week, I’ll highlight the top hotspots gaining momentum in the media. It’s how we find our best money-making opportunities, just ripe for big gains. Check out this week’s top hotspots below to find out which trends are gaining traction… | This Week's Top Hotspots ➤ President Trump created a loan program for U.S. critical minerals. The Energy Department said it will give direct loans and loan guarantees to mining projects for battery metals. The loan program was previously used to support tech companies, including $465 million for Tesla. ➤ President Trump blocked one of America's biggest copper mines. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers denied permits for the Pebble mine in Alaska. Pebble is one of America’s largest single deposits of copper and gold. Project owner Northern Dynasty Minerals’ share price soared 500% on Trump’s election in 2016. ➤ Europe banded together to secure technology metals. The EU government created the European Raw Materials Alliance to encourage domestic mining of critical minerals. Officials said the partnership between government and businesses will reduce imports of rare earths and lithium from China. ➤ Venezuela used ghost ships to send illegal oil to China. As reported by Bloomberg, Venezuelan oil exporters are getting creative in skirting U.S. sanctions. Shipments to China allegedly sailed on ships that “went dark” by turning off their satellite systems. Vessels also painted over their names and used identities of scrapped boats. ➤ Struggling oil refineries want your kitchen scraps. As reported by The New York Times, U.S. refineries are increasing production of “renewable diesel” from restaurant grease and slaughterhouse waste. Prices for the product are better than other fuels, due to government subsidies. Refiners plan to spend $2 billion over the next four years to build renewable diesel facilities.
